How many times have you felt uncomfortable when asked “ Which country are you from?” ?

If you are a Romanian, you probably have in mind some occasions.

Why ?

Because the reactions are at odds when you answer “Romania”.

Some people do not know anything about the country, others have heard too little, others already have a formed negative opinion based on our economic, political or social problems.

Everytime this is happening my mind goes to Constantin Brâncuși, Maria Tănase and George Enescu along with Alina Cojocaru and many others.

I was amazed to find out that few people know Constantin Brâncuși was a Romanian and that his art is caring our Romanian spirit and values.

Today we celebrate Constantin Brâncuși on his day, Frebruary 19th with a 3D video of the statue “The Wisdom of the Earth” along with Maria Tănase’s song : Ciuleandra and the following quote :

“ Look at my sculptures until you will see them! “

This quote is about our determination as a nation to continue the conversation despite sensing a slight disappointment of the interlocutor at hearing the answer : “Romania”.
